Field trip fun

Hello, my name is Luke. I am going on a field trip. I am so excited, I am about to squeal.

My mom can't ride the bus with me, b/c there are 4,000 kids, but she is following in the car.

I clap for cheese.

I worked hard. It was good.

Very Good.

Then I had to do the dishes!

This is Jake. He works for CiCi's. They were amazing!
My mom went with me. Don't look at her hair. It rained really hard. I think she is still super cute. And funny. And nice. :)

Strumming tunes by the campfire

Singing tunes on the train

Still singing-I loved that guitar

Crawling on the floor was fun.

I also got to go out to my dad's house and see my younger siblings minus Josh. We all became facebook friends because they really, really wanted to. They practically begged me to accept their friend requests. We got to visit with Grandma. She doesn't have facebook. How lame.

Country Birthday

Mags and her girls

Luke had to tag along.

Luke's horse served as the present express
She found my circa 1985 gold chain in my jewelry box and hasn't taken it off.
I'll get it off one night in her sleep. I have plans to mail it in to Gold.com and get at least
$2 for it.

Maggie turned 7 this month. And... this month is almost over so I'd better get the pictures posted. We usually do a mother/daughter birthday breakfast for Maggie's birthday, but this year she wanted a birthday party with her school friends. You know, the school that is over an hour away. Yeah, that is the one. Sure, no problem. I am on it.
My super awesome office manager, Margie, made the cake for me. I think she loves me and I know Jesus loves her extra special for taking pity on a poor overworked mother. (that's me in case you aren't following along).
Luke and I rode up with Candy @ noroomtoswingacat.blogspot. to Bern b/c she is from that area and she was heading home for the weekend. Maggie wanted the party @ the Bern park so we loaded a cake, some juice boxes and made it happen. Presents, cake and a few games of Red rover and Horsey, Horsey, Pig. Bing, bang, boom. Party over.
We did all this right before the big homecoming football game. I love small town live.

Go big or go home.
Last Saturday night Brock was my date to a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Topeka's Harley Davidson Event. American Family Insurance is one of the corporate sponsors, so as an agent, I get to go. It is an awesome event and they have super yummy food and a silent auction and then a live auction. And....they give away a Harley Davidson motorcycle. 1000 tickets are sold (your entry into the event) and you have a 1/1000 chance at walking away with a 2009 Harley Davidson Motorcycle. The numbers are put on a wall and one by one they are taken away. It is fun night, until your number comes off the wall, that is painful. The last few years Seth and I have been the 13th number left on the wall before we come off. 13/1000 isn't bad. But is sure is painful. Then we were 11th. 11/1000 isn't bad but it sure is painful.
This year Brock was watching the numbers all.night.long.
He and our friend Megan pulled up 2 chairs in front of the guy pulling the numbers and watched like hawks. And guess what????

THAT'S RIGHT YOU GOT IT STOP THE PRESSES!!!
TOP TEN!!!!!!!
Brock and Megan about croaked. He came RUNNING
up to me so excited.

Brock and Megan.

Mom and Brock high 10ing it.
We were so excited because when you get to the final 10 you get to a chance to auction off you ticket. A 1/10 chance at Harley brings a few takers. :) Knowing this was going to happen I discussed with Brock along with several other people at the party. We discussed the pros and cons of selling the ticket or holding out in hopes that we would win the Harley. The tickets generaly sell for a decent amount of money so it is a big decision. Since Brock has watched the numbers on the big screen all night like a mother chicken to a baby egg, he was pretty sure it was his ticket. I agreed and told him it would be his decision.
He decided to "Go big or go home".
So we did.
We waited it out and were the 994th ticket to be eliminated.

I really didn't care. I was proud of Brock for having the guts to stick it out. I like that. Gumption. Tenacity. Shear will. Never give up. That's my boy. :)
It's better than any Harley we could have won.
Oh, and he got his first "tat" that night.
Awesome!!!!
